Very lovable, adores other dogs, gets along well with cats. He enjoys a good romp in the pond when allowed, but is quite comfortable settled in on the couch. He has mastered the doggie door, is crate trained (with dog bed inside), and is also trained with a dog bed and child gate. He likes the occasional dog biscuit as a reward or thrown in with his dog food, but really gets excited over a rawhide. A good deterrant for prowlers, but really just a big baby. You don't have to worry about teething with Valentine, yet you get all the good puppy traits. He has mastered sit, shake, etc., and gives closed mouth kisses on command.Valentine's only special need comes once a year, in March, when he gets hay fever, which only lasts a couple of weeks at the most, but he will need benadryl, and perhaps some prednisone (he gets itchy eyes and rubs them). He might be better suited for colder weather, but in Mobile, AL, as I said, it's only a matter of a week or two of discomfort. He has had this reaction two years in a row, so it's likely it may continue. He is on Heartgard Plus and Frontline. Shots up to date. Free vet exam coupon offered!
